Low Back Pain and the “Core” Facts
Do you have low back pain that limits your quality of life? Did you know research shows that by strengthening your core you can reduce the compressive forces and create a healthier spine?
The core muscles include four groups of muscles: abdominals, back stabilizers, diaphragm, and the pelvic floor. These muscles work together to create a stable trunk that protects your spine and gives you more efficient movement. Recent research has shown that these muscles can be inhibited with people with low back pain which can lead to more back pain.
The physical therapists at Great Moves will teach you how to access these important muscles to help you live the life you want.

Balance Your Body
Do you have difficulty walking down stairs in a movie theater? Do you get dizzy when shopping in a crowd, using an escalator, riding in a car, and/or walking on uneven surfaces?
Many factors can influence your balance. Your strength, flexibility, nerve endings, vision, inner ear and brain can affect how you move. The repetition of specific training tasks and exercises, guided by research, can increase your balance. Exercises may include eye and/or head movements, strength work and tasks designed to challenge your reactions.
Great Moves physical therapists are skilled at assessing balance problems and will teach you what you can do to improve your balance.
